Henry Purcell: Fantazias - London Baroque is a BIS Records AB recording starring the London Baroque. Charles Medlam has written the music notes. Also includes a short biography of London Baroque ensemble. I ama huge fan of Baroque music and this recording was brilliant. Highly recommended indeed. 5//5(1).

Misc. Comments. Although the fantasias are cornerstones of the modern viol consort repertory, it is not certain that Purcell would have been able to assemble a complete viol consort at that time; though the bass viol remained in use as a solo instrument and for continuo, treble and tenor viols were dropping out of use before he was born.

Love this album. I listen to it all the time, especially when I am writing. I held a job at Interlochen Center for the Arts years agoDirector of Public Affairsand I learned to appreciate almost every kind of music, but baroque has always been my favorite classical genre/5(13).
